GBA House Rules

5th and 6th Grade
The 4-minute playing rule at the 5th-6th grade level is in effect.  This means each player must play at least 4 consecutive minutes (and sit 4 consecutive minutes) in each half. If this rule is not followed, technical fouls will be assessed.   
- Halftimes will be 2 minutes long.  
- 4 Time outs per game.... NO 20 second timeouts.
- In the last 4 minutes of the 4th quarter, coaches can substitute one player only during time out. If coaches do not have any time out left, substitution is not allowed.    
- at 5th-6th grade level, pressing in the backcourt is allowed only in the last minute of each half (and last minute of overtime, if applicable).  - Teams can play only Man to Man)  
- 28.5 Basketball
-Overtime periods will be 2 minutes in duration.    

3rd and 4th Grade  
- Man-to-man only (no zone defense); Can only double in lane; Help defense only when man has broken past defender
- 4 Time outs per game.... NO 20 second timeouts.
- In the last 4 minutes of the 4th quarter, coaches can substitute one player only during time out. If  coaches do not have any time out left, substitution is not allowed.    
- Defense can pick up at the three-point line or hash mark if available  
- 3-point line defense only if your team leads by >15 points  
- Full court press allowed last minute of game  
- Team has 12 seconds to break the defensive zone when bringing the ball up-court.  Failure will result in a turnover.  
1st and 2nd Grade  
- Man-to-man only (no zone defense); Can only double in lane; Help defense only when man has broken past defender  
- Defense can pick up at the Free throw line  
- Full court press allowed last minute of game
- Foul on a shot the player has two free throw then defensive receive the ball  
- Over time First Basket win
